We’ve already seen a great start to 2012, but it’s about to get even bigger, with brand new attractions opening this year. Let’s take a look at what’s coming and when they open.
LEGOLAND Water Park – 26th May 2012
LEGOLAND is making a splash in Florida this year and expanding their park for a brand new water park. This new family attraction will feature a wave pool, a 375ft water slide and an interactive playground.
Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem – Summer 2012
Universal Studios upcoming motion simulator ride will put the audience in the boots of one of Gru’s minions. As the finishing touches are made to this attraction, we hear it will be ready for Summer this year but havent got a specific date yet, so watch this space.
Universal Cinematic Spectacular – Spring 2012
This year will see the debut of a fantastic new night-time water and light show at Universal Studios. With colourful fountains and a showcase of movie history set to music, you will be able to relive the past hundred years of film making. This could be the perfect way to finish off a day out at the Universal parks. Theres not too long to wait for this either as it opens in Spring this year.
The New Adventures of Spiderman – March 2012
Anyone who has been to the Islands of Adventure will tell you how awesome The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman is. Well now the attraction will be known as The New Adventure of Spiderman as the folks over at Universal Studios are updating the graphics, making the experience even more immersive. They have been doing it bit by bit and should be finished this March, so prepare yourself for some all new eye-popping 3D action.
Blue Man Group – 24th Feb 2012
The hilarious Blue Man Group is back with a brand new show, which will no doubt have the audience in stitches and involve never before seen escapades and, of course, they will be looking for participants to help. This new show is opening this month, so anyone lucky enough to experience this are in for a treat.
Universal Citywalks Hollywood Drive-in Golf – February 2012
Opening this month, the Hollywood Drive-in Golf course is a new family attraction. With a cinematic theme including genres such as Sci-Fi and Horror. Players will have to make their way through the miniature golf course as if they were really in the movies.
Interactive Family Water Park at Wet n Wild – Summer 2012
Orlandos wildest water park is about to have a new addition this Summer with an interactive family water play area. Featuring 15 new slides and more than 100 soakers, jets, waterfalls and water cannons, you will be sure to have a fantastic time.
SeaWorlds Turtle Trek – 27th April 2012
Weve been keeping a close eye on the progression of this new SeaWorld attraction on our YouTube channel. SeaWorld have been giving us a fantastic insight into the construction of Turtle Trek and we cant wait for it to open in May this year.
Discovery Coves Freshwater Oasis- 26th May 2012
Discovery Cove is a great place to interact with animals and you can currently swim with dolphins and feed exotic birds, but there will be a few new residents at the attraction this year. Freshwater Oasis will allow guests to come face to face with playful otters and cute marmosets, offering a whole new experience unlike anything else.
