The Top 10 indoor rides and attractions at Walt Disney World

From humid showers to the unforgiving sun, Florida weather can be trying year round. Luckily Walt Disney World has plenty of indoor rides and attractions to give you a break from the outdoors, without missing any of the fun.

Here’s my countdown of Disney World’s Top 10 indoor attractions…

10. Spaceship Earth at Epcot

You won’t need a map to find this ride! Often mistaken as a giant golf ball, inside holds a time machine ready to transport you on a gentle tour through the ages. Learn about communication technologies throughout time, and create your own future in one of the most iconic structures of Walt Disney World.Spaceship Earth at Epcot

9. Muppet 3D Vision at Hollywood Studios

3D isn’t new anymore, but with Kermit and the Gang it’s still just as exciting! Keeping to its truest form, this is 3D that has you shielding your face, reaching out to the screen and laughing constantly.

8. Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom

Aliens, laser guns, and your chance to become a Space Ranger. Fun for all ages but impossible to ride just once – your competitive side will be unleashed!Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin

7. Soarin’ at Epcot

You can get the 3D experience from home, but an 1800 IMAX projection dome might be trickier. Luckily Epcot has one to take you on an epic journey over California. Admire the sights – and smells – as you glide over the Golden State’s widespread terrain.

6. Star Tours at Hollywood Studios

Embark on an adventurous journey into Space with R2D2 and C-3PO. Even if you’re not a wannabe Jedi, Star Tours is the ultimate simulator experience for all.

5. The Great Movie Ride at Hollywood Studios

A trip to a Movie Studio wouldn’t be complete without getting behind the scenes. This tram ride to Tinseltown gives you a first-hand experience of some of your favourite films.

4. Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom

When you’re in need of a longer break, you can take the weight off your feet and see the Disney classic ‘The Lion King’ come to life with a touch of Broadway theatrics.

3. Rock n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Hollywood Studios

The speeding limo-coaster, racing from 0-60mph in less than 4 seconds, is the only glimpse thrill seekers will get of this ride. From here it’s into the night of Los Angeles in a blur of twists and turns – all with a blaring Aerosmith soundtrack!

2. Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom

Disney gives you plenty of chances to transport yourself out of this world! Take the original Space route on this iconic ride; Florida’s oldest operating rollercoaster certainly isn’t showing its age.

1. It’s a Small World at Magic Kingdom

The Number 1 indoor ride on our list is known to most, excludes no one and entertains all. See who can guess each nationality first as you gently sail around the globe in a matter of minutes. Then see who is still singing ‘it’s a small, small world’ in the car on the way home!it's a small world

Special mention also goes to these other indoor rides:

  • Mission: Space at Epcot
  • Toy Story Midway Mania at Hollywood Studios
  • Dinosaur at Animal Kingdom
  • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios
